Nick Saban is now the winningest college football coach in history after soaring to his seventh career College Football Playoff National Championship win Monday night.
To further solidify his top-dog status in the college football universe, Saban is also the highest-paid coach of 2020, according to USA TODAY's NCAA salaries database.
Adding Saban's salary and the bonuses earned from Alabama's presence in the SEC title game, New Year's Six bowl and CFP Championship, he is the first coach to earn $10 million in a season, according to the Action Network's Darren Rovell.

In his postgame interview following the Crimson Tide's 52-24 victory over Ohio State, Saban couldn't even process that he is now the college football coach with the most national titles in history.
"I'm just happy that we won tonight and I really haven't thought about [winning seven national championship titles] because you're always lookin' forward," Saban said. "And I just love this team so much and what they've been able to do. I cant even put into words."

Nick Saban already earned $950,000 in on-field bonuses this season, including the amount for winning SEC Coach of the Year, according to USA TODAY's Steve Berkowitz.
Saban gets a $200,000 bonus for Alabama's national championship win Monday.
How long is Nick Saban's contract with Alabama?
Nick Saban will stay with Alabama through the 2026 season after his contract was extended to eight years in 2018.

Nick Saban is the highest-paid college football coach with a salary of $9,300,000, according to USA TODAY's NCAA salaries database. Alabama's CFP win secured a $200,000 bonus on top of the $950,000 earned in on-field bonuses, including the amount for winning SEC Coach of the Year, according to USA TODAY's Steve Berkowitz. This puts Saban at $10.05 million on the season.
Despite being the highest-paid coach, this isn't the most Saban has been paid as coach. In 2017, Saban earned $11.1 million (including a $4 million bonus that the school prefers to call a "contract extension signing incentive") , according to the database.
